Facilities & Frequently Asked Questions
Comfort
The cottage has double glazing and gas central heating throughout, each radiator
is thermostatically controlled for your comfort.
There is also a wood burning stove in the lounge for when you want to be extra
cosy.
Dining
The cottage has a fully equipped kitchen with a 4 element gas hob, electric
oven, microwave, full-size dishwasher (powder is provided) and fridge/freezer.
We aim to provide all that is required to cook and serve a 3 course meal for
8 people (except the food of course). If you find that you need something which
isn't provided please ask, we probably have it available in the main house.
The dining room can seat 8 comfortably.
Garden
The cottage shares a garden with the Bed & Breakfast accommodation in the
main house, there is a lawn between the two buildings and a patio with table
and chairs for outdoor dining. This area is suitable for small children as it
is easy to supervise and difficult for them to escape.
There is also a large lawn behind the main house. All this is available for
guests using the cottage.
Children
Children are very welcome, we can provide a travel-cot, high-chair, changing mat etc for small children. There is a box of toys for younger children in the cottage and they are welcome to play in the garden. The garden has a small climbing frame and slide + a small sandpit. The large back lawn is more suitable for older children , it gives them space to kick a ball about or just run around in circles.
Laundry
The cottage has full size laundry facilities with a washing machine and tumble dryer within the cottage. Laundry powder is provided. We also provide an iron and ironing board.
Telephones and Internet Access
There is no phone in the cottage but there is a pay phone available in the
reception area of the main house. Mobile phone coverage is reasonably good in the cottage.
Broadband internet access is available by Wifi (802.11b) so bring your laptop
if you wish, there is no charge for this service but you will need to ask for
the access code as the signal is encrypted (WEP) for your security.
There is also a dedicated internet PC available in the main house.
Parking
There is a driveway from the main B&B carpark to a smaller carpark immediately at the foot of the stairs up to the cottage. There is easy parking for 2 cars outside the cottage and you could park another 2 cars in the driveway as long as the last car in was the first car out. All the parking is off road.
Access
Access to the cottage is up a well made staircase, the cottage is on the first floor. You can park your car immediately at the foot of the staircase. Once inside the cottage everything is on the same level with no steps and easy access.
Pets
I'm afraid that we don't allow pets of any sort in the cottage.
Smokers
Smokers are welcome, smoking is not.
Please do not smoke indoors, there is a nice garden to smoke in, or if it is
raining there is shelter at the bottom of the stairs.
Check In & Check Out Times
You can check in from 4pm. Please check out by 11am.
